Ambulance Guidelines
IITH Clinic ambulance service is available 24/7 for EMERGENCY PURPOSES ONLY.
Usage is limited to students, employees, and their official dependents residing on campus.
Institute ambulance service will be provided only from IITH Clinic to a secondary or tertiary care center and not for inter-hospital transport.
Ambulance will not pick up patients from any hospital outside IITH to transport them back to IITH or any other location.
Ambulance will not wait for the patient once he/she is dropped at the secondary or tertiary care center.
Ambulance service will not be provided for residents/students residing outside the campus.
Ambulance services are not meant to be used as a mode of transportation either within or outside the campus for any non-emergency medical issue such as planned hospital visits, OPD visits, review/follow-up visits, or other similar visits.
For post-surgical cases, an ambulance will be provided for return pick-up of the patient only on the day of discharge, if needed, subject to availability, and not for subsequent review visits.
On-duty medical officers will decide whether an emergency requires ambulance service and the type of vehicle to use (ACLS or BLS) on a case-by-case basis and subject to availability.
The ambulance service for non-dependents on campus will be provided only at the discretion of the duty doctor after assessing the emergency and subject to availability.
Campus residents are requested to use the ambulance service judiciously and responsibly so that it remains available for those in genuine emergencies. We also request all residents to be considerate towards the medical personnel providing this service.
For any medical emergency, please call +91 8331036101.
Pharmacy Services
Cashless medicine will only be issued during OPD hours (8am-8pm) for in-campus prescriptions.
For prescriptions from outside the campus, employees must submit a copy of the prescription and referral from an institute doctor to the pharmacy.
For regular monthly medications (e.g., for diabetes or hypertension), patients must follow up with a treating specialist at least once every 3 months. The latest prescription copy along with a referral from an institute doctor must be submitted to the pharmacy.
For prescriptions from outside the headquarters, there is no cashless pharmacy facility available. Employees must purchase the medications and seek reimbursement as per institute norms.
